Cassia County Court Docket Basics
A docket is the court's running list of activity in a case. In Cassia County, a public docket may show the case number, caption, case type, hearing date, hearing time, hearing location, filing entries, orders, and case status. Start with iCourt to identify the case and event, then use the Clerk of the District Court if the actual record or certified copy is needed.

Search Cassia County Court Dockets
The online docket route starts with Idaho iCourt and the public iCourt Portal. Idaho says the portal lets users view case information, search hearings, and make payments. For Cassia County court dockets, the Search Hearings function is the most direct route when the user needs a court date or calendar listing. Smart Search is better when the case number or party name is known but the next hearing is not.
Searches are statewide unless narrowed. Cassia County is part of Idaho's Fifth Judicial District, so filters should point to Cassia County, the Fifth Judicial District, or the local case number if the portal provides those choices. If a docket entry is not visible, it may be too old for electronic display, not yet updated, tied to another county, or restricted by Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32.
- Open Idaho iCourt and choose the public portal rather than an unofficial search result.
- Select Search Hearings for a calendar or court date. Use Smart Search if a name or case number is the only known detail.
- Enter the case number, party name, hearing date, or date range, then narrow to Cassia County where possible.

Cassia County Docket Courts
Cassia County uses Idaho's unified trial-court structure. The District Court is the main trial court, and the Magistrate Division operates within it. This matters for docket searches because District Court and Magistrate Court settings may appear through the same statewide portal but involve different case types.
District Court handles general trial-court matters, felony criminal cases, civil matters, appeals from magistrate where applicable, and district-level hearings. Cassia County Dockets vs Files
A docket is best for tracking case progress. A full court record is better for legal review. A Cassia County court docket may show that a motion was filed or a sentence was entered, but the full text of the motion, order, judgment, or sentence may require a clerk request. Dockets are often enough to confirm a hearing, but they are not a substitute for a certified copy.

Idaho Supreme Court guidance says case records can also be accessed through a courthouse kiosk or by submitting a request to the clerk where the case was filed. In Cassia County, court-record requests go to the Clerk of the District Court at the Judicial Center. The signed form must state the purpose and records requested and must be emailed to court@cassia.idcourts.gov.
Note: A docket can confirm a hearing, but certified proof of a court action comes from the clerk.
Cassia County Docket Appeals

That means trial-court docket history and appellate docket activity may be in different places. The Cassia County trial case remains tied to the originating court, while appeal calendars and opinions are handled through statewide appellate resources.
When a docket shows an appeal, check the trial case for the notice, order, judgment, or transcript activity that started the appeal. Then use the state appellate calendar or opinion resources for appellate settings and outcomes. A pending appeal does not always mean the trial docket is inactive. Trial-court orders, remands, or post-judgment events may still appear locally.

Restricted Cassia County Dockets
A missing docket entry does not prove that no case exists. Idaho iCourt access is limited by ICAR 32, court orders, and statutes that protect juvenile, adoption, family, mental-health, and sealed criminal records. Idaho Code 20-525 is especially important for juvenile records because Cassia Magistrate Court handles juvenile matters and juvenile records are not all open to the public.
Public iCourt also removes personal identifiers from public view. Social Security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, driver's license numbers, financial-account numbers, and similar identifiers are not shown. Pending and closed case statuses can appear when allowed, but sealed events, confidential documents, and restricted calendars may be hidden or shown in a limited form.
