Apply for Cassia County Marriage Records

Cassia County Under-18 Marriage Rules
Cassia County describes a separate process for applicants who are under 18 but not less than 16. Both people must appear in person. Both need photo identification and Social Security cards. One parent must be present with photo identification and the applicant's birth certificate, and the parent must sign documents for each applicant under 18.
The fee is the same as the adult license fee. The under-18 process still creates two copies of the license, including the copy returned after the ceremony for recording. Because under-18 applications have more proof and signature requirements, applicants should contact the Recorder before appearing if a parent, birth certificate, or required proof may be unavailable.
Cassia County Officiants and Return
Cassia County says a judge, mayor, or minister may perform a marriage ceremony. To schedule with a judge, call 208-878-7351. The mayor may be contacted at 208-878-2224. A minister may be anyone ordained to perform marriages. The officiant's return is important because the completed license must be returned to the county that issued it before the recorded marriage copy can be maintained by the Recorder.
After the ceremony, the recorded license becomes the local marriage record. Certified copies from the Recorder are useful for name-change proof, including Star Card or state ID and driver's license updates. The county charges $2 for each certified copy of a marriage license.
Important: A keepsake marriage copy is not the same thing as a certified copy issued for legal proof.

Idaho Vital Records certificates are available for marriage and divorce events from May 1947. Idaho marriage and divorce certificates are legally confidential for 50 years.
